Based in Gran Canaria, Spain, Jake blends digital tools with traditional techniques to create vibrant, eye-catching designs.

Jake Purcell

Jake’s artistic journey began while travelling in Chacahua, Mexico, where he saw a girl selling stickers and decided to give it a try. What started with sticking designs on his water bottle quickly turned into a small business, with one of his designs selling out on the first day.
Since then, he has expanded into creating travel posters, which has become the heart of his work.

Inspired by the bold, colourful doodles of Brazilian artist Mauro Martins, Jake’s work combines playful lines and bright colours in a style that resonates across various mediums.
His creative process flows naturally, with inspiration often striking when least expected.

Jake’s advice to emerging artists is simple: keep going, even when it feels like it’s going nowhere. Keep experimenting with new styles, share your work, and connect with other creators.

How we met..
I first met Jake sitting on the hostel beachfront in Puerto Escondido, Mexico, where we ended up in the same spot for hours everyday, just talking and laughing.
Watching Jake’s creative journey unfold over the years has been nothing short of inspiring. Through countless 8-minute voice notes, he’s shared advice, wisdom, and a perspective that’s always resonated with me. His lifestyle—one that lets him travel, explore new places, and maintain a healthy work-life balance—proves it’s possible to thrive purely through your artistic abilities. Jake has shown me that with passion and persistence, you can create a life that not only sustains you but also fuels your soul. Every conversation with him leaves me motivated and reminded that we all have the power to shape our own unique paths.
